Nothing thrills us more than seeing a whole brand come together across multiple pieces of packaging and in-store touch points. Here’s what’s inspiring us this month.

So, it’s a new month.

Where does the time go? With 2016 almost at its close, it’s about time we all dedicate some time to unwind and decompress.

Located in Brazil, one of the most vibrant and music-filled metropolises, Equilibrio Spa encompasses a serene atmosphere promising of healthy relaxation and stress reduction.

No two people visit the spa for the same reason.

Design Agency, Triocom, were invited to revitalize the branding of Equilibrio Spa, with the intent to highlight on subtle and minimalist features to define its full space and identity. With surroundings rich of tranquility, the objectives for Triocom was to successfully capture the true meaning of the brand – to inspire people to come as one with our full physical, mental and spiritual health.

Pro tip: Encompass a specific lifestyle that your consumer can identify with. A brand with substance, meaning, and the ability to embody an image is key to driving growth in your future earnings.

The basic principles of the Equilibro Spa design are built on the golden ratio, otherwise known as the ‘fibonacci calculations’. What is the golden ratio, you ask?

The golden ratio can be interpreted as a golden rectangle, which describes the perfectly symmetrical relationship between two proportions. A designer’s guide to the golden ratio can be seen here.

Funnily enough, the mathematical ratio is, in fact, found in nature to create natural compositions that are aesthetically pleasing to the human eye. For over 4000 years, the golden ratio was used in human art and design. Now, the golden ratio can be observed in today’s music, art and modern design!


Pro tip: The golden ratio may seem complex, but it’s important to grasp the foundations of the concept so that you can turn a ‘good design’ into a great design, especially in the eyes of the beholder. Twitter and Pepsi are amongst the many examples that companies use the golden ratio to exhibit not only harmony and proportion in their brand, but also consistency.

To enforce consistency throughout the Equilibrio Spa branding, Triocom work with palettes of pleasant colours (a combination of deep purple, gold and aqua) to capture the beautifying and balanced nature of the indulgent spa experiences for the consumer. The design is finished off with a signature subtle serif font as a statement of a calm and relaxed expressiveness to the Equilibrio Spa brand.
