Design Of The Week - Fat Snout
The unimaginable can immerse from the world of Packaging Design – Inspired by a teenage girl's scribbles, meet Fat Snout; a Food Truck that broke through the clutter, and united its diverse food menu with its rich, bold and edgy dolphin identity.
Specialising in graphic design, Jihyang Lim's style approach to Fat Snout connected to the idea of spreading happiness and celebrating togetherness through a rich and playful illustrative consistency, whilst retaining individual character.
The food truck, itself, is a distinctive and bespoke feature to the brand; with its daring logotype framed with a young, and spiritful detail that mixes with loud and bold colours to arrest the attention of the bypasser.
In a simple act of community, Lim developed for Fat Snout a branding identity that would also extend across their packaging and menu design. As a result, her impressive design efforts stood out for its use of a weighty fluorescent white and pink colour choice to enhance its lively font approach.
These bright illustrations work well against a fairly unconventional choice of mascot across the packaging, food truck and dining environment; keeping everything looking interesting, humorous and naturally quirky.
